Completing the CA DOJ Instructor Certificaiton

I received an envelope in the mail on Thursday that got my attention. The contents are interesting for a couple of different reasons.

First, I had to complete this process to be allowed to apply to become a State of California Certified Firearms Instructor. Why do I want to do this? because now I can offer the NRA Basic Pistol Course and at the conclusion of the course I can offer the state Gun Safety test to people. This is required before being allowed to purchase firearms in CA.

Second, this form says "...there is nothing that would prohibit the individual from acquiring or possessing a firearm." So, why must I endure the waiting period if I have already been cleared? Dumb politics.
